Hello. I’m David Wickham and I’m a UK and destination wedding photographer, based near London. Put simply, I love photographing in a natural, relaxed, documentary style. I try to blend in with the flow of a wedding day rather than impose myself. This means I can photograph events as they unfold, in a story telling way. My biggest inspiration is the capturing of good times, shared. Through my work, I try to set the scene, the location, the details that in 20 years time we might have forgotten. Against this backdrop, the story unfolds naturally and I work to document this in a creative, no fuss way. Every couple I photograph is different, and their wedding is unique in its own way, so my approach suits me as it is authentic, and original every time. My style has been described as cinematic, which is a big compliment, as I love cinema and creative storytelling. I feel very fortunate to be able to photograph weddings as my job, because it’s my passion too- I put my heart and soul into every wedding because I don’t know any other way to do it.
This is why I offer full coverage as standard- I want to be there- We never know when those special moments might happen. I love to travel and frequently photograph weddings in London, across the UK, France, Italy, Spain and more, so just send me over some details of your wedding plans and let’s talk…
Modern Vintage Weddings is my own unique approach, a mix of journalistic reportage and a creative, fine art style. Feel free to look through my wedding stories gallery or blog for examples of my work. My wedding photography has been featured in Hello!, Brides, Style Me Pretty, Italian Vogue and my editorial work also frequently appears in national bridal magazines. I also photograph wedding industry clients new collections. I use my experience of editorial photography, and above all my love of weddings to create a truly special record of events.
