Destination Wedding Photography in Chamonix

Georgia & James were married overlooking the Mer D'Glace glacier in Chamonix. Perfectly planned by Monica at Haute Wedding, it was my first trip to the outdoorsy playground. Summer in the mountains is just magical. The clean crisp air keeps you cool even when the alpine sun at altitude is bright and sunny, and the light is forever changing on the mountainsides that surround you. As a destination wedding photographer, exploring, getting to shoot photos and meet new people, and especially capturing the good times shared, is such fun. After preparations in the valley, the wedding party headed up to the mountain via train for the ceremony. The champagne flowed among guests as they took in the wonder of the glacier, before heading back down to the valley below for the reception and dancing. It was such a fun wedding that both Mark and I loved capturing- And if you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen some behind scenes of our own adventure up two cable cars to 3,000 metres during the trip. The plan was to see the very top of Mont Blanc nearby, but alas the cloud had rolled in and visibility was poor. There is always next time though, as we both can't wait to go back.
